What is The PEACE School Project?

The PEACE School Project works with school entities to offer programming in mindfulness, yoga, and school-wide implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs. Because all of our programming is rooted in SEL, we can seamlessly be added to your existing SEL program, or act as the catalyst to see how Social and Emotional Learning can fit into your school community.

Using SEL as our baseline we explore how mindfulness and yoga can help us develop the core competencies of self-management, self-awareness, social-awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. In the process educators and students become more present, empowered, adaptable, and confident.

Our founder and lead instructor, Kathryn Kret, is a Trauma-Informed Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher, Mindfulness Educator, Social and Emotional Learning Specialist, and certified Elementary Teacher. She has trained over 350 administrators and teachers in SEL implementation and practices and led thousands of students through SEL and mindfulness exercises. She trained with the top programs in the field, Mindful Schools, Yoga Ed, and the Academy for Social and Emotional Learning in Schools.
